Pottery Biscuit and Glazed... Most pottery is fired twice. The first, called biscuit firing, removes moisture from the clay and bakes it ready for glazing. The white ware in the foreground and background here have been biscuit fired. Coloured glazes are then applied by dipping or painting and the pottery is fired again at a higher temperature. The dragon figures and goblets in the foreground have been glazed and high-fired. |
